A sunny afternoon yesterday to visit Lake Massapoag. The winter lake continues to surprise me with treasures — simple treasures, like three nicely-matched stones that feel good in my hands. I use them for the meditation I learned at a retreat with Thich Nhat Hahn many years ago.
I wrote more about it here, but the gist of the meditation is to hold each one consecutively in hand:
- Stone 1: Breathing in, I see myself as a flower; breathing out I feel fresh (3x)
- Stone 2: Breathing in, I see myself as a mountain; breathing out I feel strong (3x)
- Stone 3: Breathing in, I see myself as still water; breathing out I reflect things as they are (3x)
